Introduction
● Gujarat’s Assistance for Common Environment Infrastructure under the Atma Nirbhar
Gujarat Scheme supports the creation of shared facilities that help industries meet
environmental standards. This initiative funds common wastewater treatment plants,
hazardous waste management facilities, and other eco-friendly infrastructure, ensuring
that industries can reduce their environmental impact while focusing on growth
Objective
● To promote sustainable industrial practices by encouraging shared environmental infrastructure that is accessible to multiple industries within a region. ● Toreduce the cost burden on individual industries for environmental compliance, making it easier for companies to meet regulations and support Gujarat’s commitment to ecological preservation
Eligibility Criteria
● Industries, industrial clusters, and consortiums of companies operating in Gujarat that
require access to shared environmental resources, including common effluent treatment
plants, hazardous waste facilities, and air pollution control systems.
Benefits of the Assistance for Common Environment Infrastructure
1. Reduced Environmental Compliance Costs
○ By using shared facilities, industries lower their individual costs for waste
management, treatment, and pollution control, making compliance more
affordable.
2. Enhanced Environmental Standards
○ Access to high-quality treatment and disposal facilities enables industries to meet
or exceed environmental standards, reducing pollution and fostering a healthier
environment.
3. Resource Optimization and Waste Minimization
○ Shared recycling and reuse facilities promote waste minimization and resource
efficiency, contributing to a more sustainable industrial ecosystem.
4. Improved Public and Community Health
○ With proper waste treatment and pollution control measures in place, the
surrounding communities benefit from cleaner air, water, and soil, leading to
improved public health outcomes.
5. Streamlined Regulatory Compliance
○ Centralized monitoring systems and shared infrastructure ensure that all
participating industries can maintain regulatory compliance without duplicating
efforts or incurring additional costs
